Programming
We were able to fix the hat wobble system, on times this can still become glitchy, mostly when extreme movements happen. This is something we will have to look into so the player can't make any extreme movements.
Other than that we tried fixing the joining screen as much as we could, but decided for now to leave this out and focus more on the game and the visuals in itself, like adding the animations and the powers of the hat which will be our main focus in the second sprint.
We also added the model to the revolver so the players can now see the actual model in-game! It doesn't have textures yet but before it was just two cubes held in the air by magic so that's already an improvement.
Once the model was added to the revolver, we also worked to attach the gun to the player's left hand. Originally it was just put in a fixed spot in the air, but now that we are adding animations to the character we want the position and rotation of the gun to follow the player's hand during animations. As well, we needed to adjust the rotation of the revolver to make sure the aiming of the gun is not weird despite how it is positioned in the player's hand.
Lastly we added the models of the various props and buildings to the playable level. Now our bald cowboys can finally shoot out in a proper western town to their heart's content. This includes also adding collision to all of the props and adding barriers to make sure the players cannot go outside of the play area. We also tweaked the environment and code for the revolvers to make sure the bullets can ricochet off of all of the various props.
Art
Additional to the running animation that we have set up, we now also have a death and wobble animation added to the character. The character itself right now has the correct color and shader applied to it.
All of the assets and buildings for the environment have been modelled, the applied textures are temporary since we still have to make a shared texture for all the assets togheter.
From most of the former assets have been used modulary to make these buildings
The basic hat has also been modelled, the power hats will follow in the coming week(s)
